FRANCISCO PELAGIO BRILLANTES, SR.

(Our Paternal Grandfather)

Francisco was born to a Banatenhon Family belonging to the Principalia of the town, to the couple Aquilino Juanico Brillantes and Francisca Pelagio. His Father was a grandson of Capitan Don Tomas Juanico (Gobernadorcillo of Banate from 1855-1856) and Dona Lucia Balderas (sister of Capitan Don Martin Balderas, who was also among the Gobernadorcillos of Banate during that Period). 

The first child of Don Tomas Juanico and Dona Lucia Balderas was Andrea Balderas Juanico. She married a gentleman from Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo named Vicente Blancaflor Brillantes. The couple was blessed with several children, among whom was Aquilino (our grandfather's father).
